Frequently asked questions
Do I need an Internet connection?
No. Once the models are downloaded, dictation works fully offline. Internet is only used for activation and the optional AI assistant.
Which software can I dictate into?
Anywhere you can type: Word, LibreOffice, EHR software, RIS/PACS, web browsers, messaging apps…
What are the system requirements?
Windows 10/11 (64-bit), macOS 12+ or 64-bit Linux, 8 GB RAM recommended, a microphone (headset or USB mic preferred). An NVIDIA GPU speeds up review but is optional.
Mac or Linux?
Yes: Nabady Whisper is available for Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Linux, with the same licence. Available versions are shown in the “On all your computers” section.
Is my patient data sent anywhere?
No. Recognition is local. Only the AI assistant, if you enable it, receives text — always anonymised and with your consent.
What does the lifetime licence include?
Unlimited use on one computer and all updates of the purchased major version. Later major versions are optional, at €100.
Can I change computers?
Yes: deactivate the licence on the old computer (Help > Licence), then activate it on the new one.
How can I pay?
